Overview
Energetic educator dedicated to mentoring and developing individuals and programs to integrate global perspectives & issues into existing curriculum. Specializes in global competencies, global education, literacy, and ESL.
I believe that teaching children to be globally minded requires the teacher to pursue personal global experiences. I have completed graduate course work in China, a Fulbright – Hays Project Abroad to India, and the Global Competence Certificate (GCC) through World Savvy, Columbia University, and Asia Society.
In twelve years in the classroom, I taught kindergarten and second grade, wrote curriculum, led vertical planning, presented professional development, and coordinated Club We Can, a nationally recognized service club for 3rd through 6th graders. Now I consult with organizations, schools, and teachers to incorporate global competencies within formal and informal instruction.
I am an ardent human rights advocate. I serve on the Committee on Teaching About the United Nations (CTAUN) and am an ambassador and committee lead for TeachSDGs.org.
